Whether you are meeting in person in Toronto or connecting online, EMDR-informed sessions are collaborative and paced to what feels right for you. There is no pressure to move faster than you are ready for.
How sessions build over time:
EMDR isn’t only for major trauma. It can help with any experience that still feels emotionally stuck, even years later.
Unprocessed experiences like this can also show up as low mood or heaviness that lingers, and if that overlap sounds familiar, our depression counselling page walks through how we can address both together.
You might be a good fit if:
EMDR is most effective when it’s paced to your nervous system and combined with enough stability to make reprocessing feel safe. We build that foundation together before doing any deeper trauma work.
What this can include:
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a structured, evidence-based approach that supports the mind and body in working through distressing memories. At Unraveling Grace, EMDR principles inform the counselling work rather than being offered as a stand-alone treatment.
EMDR is often used for trauma and PTSD, but it can also help with anxiety, grief, and other experiences that still feel stuck or unprocessed.
Sessions are gentle and structured. We might focus on a memory or feeling, drawing on grounding and processing techniques informed by EMDR, with pauses to check in throughout.
No. EMDR doesn’t require you to describe the event in detail. You can process what happened without narrating it out loud.
We move at a pace you can handle, and you’re always in control of what we focus on and when we pause.
It varies. Some people notice shifts within a few sessions, while more complex or longstanding experiences may take longer. We’ll check in regularly on your progress.
Yes. What you share stays private, with the standard legal exceptions any counsellor in Ontario is required to follow.
Both. In-person sessions are held in Toronto. Online EMDR-informed sessions are available across Ontario and worldwide, using adapted techniques suited to virtual work.
Rates vary by counsellor and session length. Book a consultation and we’ll walk you through pricing and what’s involved before you commit to anything.
I’ve spent more than two decades sitting with people in some of the most tender seasons of their lives. That work has taught me that healing is rarely linear, and that the goal is not to erase your story. The goal is to help you hold it with more clarity, more compassion, and more freedom.
Sessions are offered virtually to clients worldwide, including across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Dubai, Bahrain, Qatar, and India, with limited in-person availability in Toronto.
We are also in the process of organizing in-person gatherings for the Unraveling Circle with Grace. If you’re interested in attending, please contact us to be added to the list for updates and upcoming events.
50 minutes for standard sessions. Extended sessions are available when the work calls for it.
Most clients meet weekly or biweekly. We’ll find a rhythm that supports the work without overwhelming your life.

Starting counselling can feel vulnerable. A strong counselling relationship is built through safety, trust, and a shared understanding of what you need. My goal is to offer a space where you feel supported as you explore what is hurting, what is protecting you, and what healing may look like for you.
